PJ's Legacy

Post contributed by: Courtney Kenlock

The Present PNP Administration needs to listen to the people so as not to have civil disorder in the country. I am here looking at this government mismanagement of the country. Resources have been wasted; persons who are genetically linked have been beneficiary to scarce benefits and political spoils. PJ Patterson has been an absolute failure and in any other civilized country had he been leader he would already have to resign.

Follow up:

There are a number of persons defending his legacy but at the end of the day all he will leave is chaos and mayhem in the country. I believe its full time for him to go and do not allow time to be unkind and disrespectful to his so called legacy. The country needs a person/leader with the passion and will to root out corruption that has been an attribute of Patterson ever since he entered politics.

He is a man who is always involved in a number of scandals, mismanagement, and collusion in distribution of scarce resources to party functionaries whether willingly or unwillingly. THIS is PJ's legacy; some of the scandals that I can account for are as follows:

1. Iran sugar deal (don’t know if he benefited financially)
2. Shell Waiver deal
3. Rollins land deal
4. Bush Stewart land deal
5. I T deal which foreigners benefited
6. Operation pride Scandals
7. Fat salary Scandal
8. Furniture Scandal
9. Omar run with it which I deem as the most serious as it denied poor people who were affected by hurricane the basic necessity for rehabilitation after the flood.
10. Klas sales deal
11. NSWMA scandal which was so disrespectful as the chairman and CEO appointed by PJ said Shut up you damn mouth
12. White House hotel cost overrun
13. JPS give away to mirant (cash Cow)
14. The old Harbour By-pass give away to French company
15. Selling out the citizens of Portmore to French company as cash cow (250,000 Residents)

I have another concern, I cannot envision a person reporting to himself, there will be no accountability such as occurred NSWMA and the same thing will happen at Air Jamaica. One man is on about 50 boards what is this saying to outstanding Jamaicans who have distinguished themselves. With all of these concerns and MR. PJ still believe she got the guts to stay then only a revolution will remove him from office.
This condition needs to be discontinued poor cant take it no more. A number are defending this administration that is their right for they have made a lot of money while education and training, health infrastructure have suffered enormously.

We need constitutional reform in this country PJ has been prime minister since 1989 even though he was officially sworn in 1992, Michael Manley was sick the whole time. He took a relatively stable economy in 1990's and decimated it by poor policy decisions and mismanagement including scandals. Mr. Golding was calling for Constitutional reforms when he was leader of NDM but since he has gone back to the JLP he is silent on the matter because I do not know if he is biding his time just to go and get a piece of the pie.

Most of our black leaders such as PJ as failed us considerably and need to be removed for the good of the country.

Three Ministers

Three ministers - a Presbyterian, a Methodist, and a Southern Baptist and their wives were all on a cruise together. A tidal wave came up and swamped the ship, and they all drowned. The next thing you know, they're standing before St.Peter.

As fate would have it, the first in line was the Presbyterian and his wife. St. Peter shook his head sadly and said, "I can't let you in. You were moral and upright, but you loved money too much. You loved it so much, you even married a woman named Penny."

St.Peter waved sadly, and poof! Down the chute to the 'Other Place' they went. Then came the Methodist. "Sorry, can't let you in either," said Saint Peter "You abstained from liquor and dancing and cards, but you loved food too much.

You loved food so much, you even married a woman named Candy!" Sadly, St. Peter waved again, and whang! Down the chute went the Methodists.

The Southern Baptist turned to his wife and whispered nervously, "It ain't looking good, Fanny."
