Country life Nice

Broadgate, St. Mary
Broadgate St. Mary

Yesterday my husband and I were invited to the country by friends. It was one of ‘the guys’ birthday, not that we need an excuse to get together and enjoy good food and fellowship. So after doing our regular Saturday chores we headed out about midday.
Our destination was Ensfield, St. Mary. We drove via Stony Hill, pass New Castle and through Junction. The view on route was simple breathtaking. It was as if the rains had washed the earth clean and bright.

Follow up:

By the time we got there the cow cod soup was ready. There was also corn pork, jerk pork and jerk chicken. With the meats there was rice, ‘cartwheel’ dumplings, yellow yam and white yam. For drinks there was fresh coconut water as well as the regular fruit juices, sodas and of course you can’t have a day like that without the real ‘sugar cane,’ white rum and other hard liquors.

The men took charge of the cooking while they played dominoes and drank liquor. The ladies lazed about watching the men or the children. The children played in the river which ran parallel to where we were. An added treat for them was the small pig farm on the property which also carrier chickens and some ducks (not to mention a high scent).
Overall it was a very enjoyable and relaxing afternoon being together with friends with whom you can be yourself and truly unwind. It’s at times like those that its hard to understand how people can be so wicked with so much beauty around them.
Nuff Love
