Persistent Rain Washout Heroes Weekend

‘What a sinting inna di island, since Friday it no tawp rain’. ‘Me naa chat bout no lickle drizzle either, wah we a get feel like starm.’ ‘fi real’. ‘Most of the outdoor events crass the island, washout’.
Apparently on Friday there was a system just southwest of Montego Bay that turned into a tropical depression which caused quite a bit of flooding island wide.

Follow up:

One house in Canterbury in Montego Bay, St. James was completely destroyed while two others were damaged from a landslide caused by the heavy rains. Rivers have overflowed their banks and some major road ways are blocked throughout the island.

The tropical depression has since been named Tropical Storm Wilma. Currently it’s moving away from Jamaica very slowly however we are still feeling the effects of the outer bands.
‘So much for Heroes weekend, all the planning for all those events, all for naught.’ I was really looking forward to getting out this weekend. I especially wanted to go to the seafood festival in Port Royal. Alas that was not to be. I hope it will be rescheduled.
Just so you get a feel of what I’m talking about, I got some pictures for you.

Three Ministers

Three ministers - a Presbyterian, a Methodist, and a Southern Baptist and their wives were all on a cruise together. A tidal wave came up and swamped the ship, and they all drowned. The next thing you know, they're standing before St.Peter.

As fate would have it, the first in line was the Presbyterian and his wife. St. Peter shook his head sadly and said, "I can't let you in. You were moral and upright, but you loved money too much. You loved it so much, you even married a woman named Penny."

St.Peter waved sadly, and poof! Down the chute to the 'Other Place' they went. Then came the Methodist. "Sorry, can't let you in either," said Saint Peter "You abstained from liquor and dancing and cards, but you loved food too much.

You loved food so much, you even married a woman named Candy!" Sadly, St. Peter waved again, and whang! Down the chute went the Methodists.

The Southern Baptist turned to his wife and whispered nervously, "It ain't looking good, Fanny."
